Mudcloth is a traditional ancient Malian textile. The process of dying the textile starts with coarse handspun cotton strips and it goes through a long series of dyeing processes including leaves, branches, and fermented river mud (hence the name). The hand-dyed strips are sewn together by hand giving each fabric texture and flaws. The flaws make each pillow unique and beautiful in its own way.
